Where Technology Meets Customer Understanding

At Unseenlabs, transforming advanced technology into operational value requires more than technical expertise. It also means listening to users, explaining complex concepts clearly, and ensuring that customer needs are reflected in product development. With experience spanning technical pre-sales, product marketing, bid management, and partnerships, Nicolas brings this cross-functional perspective to his role as Sales Support Engineer. Since joining Unseenlabs in June 2024, he has helped structure customer technical support and make our technology and data easier to understand and use.

From Engineering to Product Strategy

Today, we meet Nicolas, Sales Support Engineer at Unseenlabs. With a background spanning technical pre-sales, product marketing, digital television, and partnerships, he now supports our clients and sales teams by making complex technologies easier to understand and ensuring that customer needs are reflected in product development.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your background?

My name is Nicolas, I graduated from INSA Rennes in Communication Systems and Networks.

Right after graduating, I had the opportunity to move into technical pre-sales roles at Astellia, a company providing monitoring solutions for mobile network operators.

After spending several years abroad, first in Brazil and then in the United States, I returned to France to take on product marketing and pricing responsibilities within the same company. I then moved into the digital television sector, first as a Bid Manager at Technicolor, and then as a Product Manager at Enensys.

After these experiences, I joined AMA, a company specializing in remote assistance solutions for field professionals, as Head of Tenders and Partnerships.

All these experiences have followed the same underlying direction since the beginning of my career: providing technical support to sales teams and customers.

In June 2024, I joined Unseenlabs as a Sales Support Engineer to launch and structure this customer technical support activity.

What are your Missions at Unseenlabs?

My missions are centered around customer support and technical assistance for the sales team.

This means training users, creating educational and instructional content, and acting as a point of reference for user questions about Unseenlabs’ technology and how to use our data.

For the sales team, my role is to provide technical support during customer meetings, prospecting discussions, and trade shows.

There is also the less visible part of the job, which consists of bringing the customer’s voice back into the company, especially from a product perspective. This means contributing to the specifications of new features and playing an active role in product development to make sure customer expectations are properly taken into account.

Why did you choose to join the Unseen adventure?

The field, or rather the fields — maritime, space, and RF — represented the technical challenge I was looking for.

I wanted to join a company with a strong technical and technological dimension. I was also looking for a company that was still at the beginning of its story, with many things left to build.

What motivates you in your day-to-day work, or what makes you most proud here?

My main motivation is seeing that clients have understood our technology and solutions, and feel able to use the data we provide.

Another aspect I really enjoy is taking a particularly complex subject and finding the right way to present it so that it becomes clear and understandable for clients.

A team of six engineers and scientists wearing white lab coats, black face masks, hairnets, and gloves stand in a cleanroom around a small satellite mounted on a blue test stand. The satellite, covered in black panels with multiple connectors and components, is placed on a white table in a controlled environment. Some team members have their arms crossed, while others hold tools, signifying the final preparations before launch. The EXO logo is visible on their lab coats, indicating a collaboration with Exolaunch. The setting reflects a high-tech aerospace lab, emphasizing precision and innovation in satellite deployment.
