This November, we are taking another step forward in our journey. Two new satellites, BRO-17 and BRO-20, are launching aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 (Transporter-15) from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, with integration handled by Exolaunch. The mission, called LEVEL TWENTY, marks a new chapter for our constellation.
A symbolic milestone
With the launch of BRO-20, we reach the symbolic milestone of our 20th satellite sent to space since Unseenlabs was founded in 2015. After liftoff, our constellation will count 19 satellites in orbit, making it one of the most advanced systems in the world dedicated to space-based RF detection.
Each of our satellites carries our proprietary monosatellite RF technology, which allows us to geolocate a ship with a single satellite. Unlike traditional approaches that require several sensors in orbit, our system provides fast, efficient, and highly actionable data. On average, each satellite covers 300,000 km² per pass and performs thousands of RF detections every day.
Looking ahead
The launch of BRO-17 and BRO-20 is both a milestone and a starting point. Beginning in 2026, we will deploy our second generation of satellites, expanding our monitoring capabilities beyond the maritime domain to cover land and space while continuing to reinforce our role at sea.
“Our constellation already gives decision-makers the tools to combat illegal fishing, monitor sensitive areas, and understand maritime dynamics,” says Clément Galic, CEO and co-founder of Unseenlabs. “This launch is proof of how far we have come, and the next generation of satellites will take us even further.”
